With Evolang9 being held in Kyoto in 2011 we think this is a great time to start building a stronger Evolutionary Linguistics research community in Japan. To this end we will be organizing a number of events in Japan (and particularly Tokyo) in the run up to the conference. All events will be free and open to anyone with an interested. Researchers from different universities and research specializations are particularly encouraged to join us.

Reading Discussion Group (Not currently active)
We run a semi weekly Evolutionary Linguistics reading and discussion group at the University of Tokyo Hongo Campus each Thursday evening. Each week we discuss a different paper agreed on by the participants. This may either be a influential paper in the area or one contributed by a member seeking feedback on their own research.
